Eagle Aspen is a well known trusted name in the satellite business. You cannot use a normal cable splitter to split a satellite signal.  You must use a satellite splitter that is capable of splitting the higher frequencies.  Cable frequencies only go to 900 Mhz while satellite signals go much higher.  This Eagle Aspen P7003AP splitter will split both cable and satellite signals. Please understand that when splitting a satellite signal you will only be able to watch channels that are on the same polarity.  For example you could watch different channels on two different receivers with a satellite splitter as long as they were both horizontal or both vertical polarity. One good use could be someone who has two tv's but won't have the need to watch both at the same time.  Use a satellite splitter and just turn the box that is not in use off.  The box that is on will be able to watch all the channels.
